A small factory on the outskirts of Tehran illegally employs Afghan asylum seekers who live with their families in old shipping containers or modest shacks in nearby shanty towns. Romance secretly blooms between a young Iranian working at the factory and the daughter of an illegal Afghan worker. Inspired by a true story and selected as Afghanistan's entry for best foreign language film at this year's Academy Awards.
Speaker: Qais Akbar Omar, author of the internationally acclaimed memoir, A Fort of Nine Towers, which chronicles his family’s remarkable survival against unbelievable odds through the brutal civil war and Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
