6th ANNUAL FAMILY FESTIVAL
Belmont Youth Video & Animation Festival (all ages)
Saturday, November 22 | 3:00 PM
Come cheer on your friends and classmates at this very special film event--you never know, you just might be seeing the earliest work made by the next generation’s Steven Spielberg! This second annual festival showcases work submitted by young area filmmakers, as well as videos made during the “How to Make a Movie in One Day” workshop on October 25, and a digital animated film created during the "LineStorm Animated Digital FlipBooks” workshop on November 15, given by award-winning filmmaker Pell Osborn.
Videos must be between 2 to 7 minutes in length and created by youths between the ages of 9 and 17. Entries can be about any topic, but must be suitable viewing for all ages, and must be submitted by Friday, November 14, at 5:00 PM. No entry fee required. All film and video makers will be recognized at the festival and presented with a certificate and a small prize. A "Viewer's Choice" will be voted on the day of the festival.
To submit a video (any format acceptable) download an application here or pick one up at either the Belmont Media Center located in Room 117 at Belmont High School (221 Concord Avenue) weekdays from 12-8 PM or at the Studio Cinema, 376 Trapelo Road, Belmont. Films can also be dropped off at either location. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Belmont World Film is pleased to present this program in conjunction with the groups that initiated this effort: the Belmont Media Center and the Belmont Youth Commission. Special thanks to Stacey Conley and Jeff Hansell of the Belmont Media Center.
Co-Hosts: Frank Manzelli of Tokyo Joe’s Self Defense & Jeff Alch of Belmont Pizza.
